Director

Kalum Katipearachchi is the Group Finance Director of McLarens Holdings Limited and also supervises Group corporate secretarial function in this role. He serves in the Boards of Directors in Group Companies, GAC Shipping Limited, Interocean Services Limited, Interocean Energy (Pvt) Limited, United Shipping Agencies (Pvt) Limited, Speed Drome (Pvt) Limited and Macbertan (Pvt) Limited. He also functions as the Managing Director of McOcean Property Developers (Pvt) Limited.

He joined the Group as Group Director – Finance and Shared Services in early 2012 where he overlooked Finance, HR, Legal, IT and Company Secretarial functions of the Group previously.

In 2016 he was entrusted with business responsibilities as the Group Director in charge of Property Cluster and Lubricant/Automotive Clusters within the Group.

Mr. Katipearachchi has previously held the role of senior executive Director of Various Companies in Healthcare, Insurance/Knowledge Process Outsourcing, Industrial Construction & Diversified holdings, including a very successful stint of 9 years as Group CEO in a Design & Construction company, which was restructured & turned into the market leader. He has also held the role of Country Director for Aviva Global Services Lanka (Pvt) Limited, a subsidiary of Aviva PLC UK heading its Sri Lankan operations and finance operations in India. Experience includes Agro industrial / plantation, shipping, media & trading.

He has over 25 years of overall progressive work experience in a multitude of industries out of which 13 years at CEO level & 9 years at COO/CFO level. His specialties include Corporate Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Property Projects & Contract Management.

He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA, UK) Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) & holder of MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayawardenepura.

He was an Executive Council Member of Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) and Vice President of Private Hospitals Association (PHA) representing the Large Hospitals Chapter. He also served in CIMA Thought Leadership Committee.

His other interests include Cricket, Badminton, Squash, Swimming, Reading and Travel. He has served as the Honorary Treasurer of Sri Lanka Squash Federation from April 2009 to March 2011. He qualified as the youngest member of the Association of Cricket Umpires in Sri Lanka & is a certified Cricket Coach.
