Romesh De Livera joined McLarens shipping as a Board Director in 1991. He was appointed Managing Director of MSC Lanka (Pvt) Ltd on the 1st of January, 2007. During this period, he was able to attract several international container and liner principals to McLarens including MSC, WanHai, CCNI, Marfret, Proline, Triton Leasing, and Interpool Leasing.

Mr. De Livera is a Naval Architect by profession and he currently serves on the board of MSC Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as well as McLarens Holdings Ltd. He is a member of the Royal Naval Architects (MRINA) Holds BSC Hon and he also holds a degree in Naval Architecture / Ship Science from University of South Hampton,

UK. He possesses experience the shipping industry since 1974, covering ship repairs, Class surveys, salvage, & shipping Agency functions. Achievements : Set up & managed a container management unit at the Ceylon Shipping Corporation which purchased, leased & managed a fleet of over 17,000 units in worldwide destinations. Invited to speak at several container services related forums locally & overseas, & has been featured in Lloyds List.
